Our Evolution

Cogentic began in 2004 as a consultant to corporate clients in technology commercialization and intellectual property strategy. Early on Cogentic worked with some of the most well known names in the communications and media sectors. Subsequently, Cogentic expanded its offering to include strategic business development - helping companies develop and execute their go-to-market strategy and facilitating introductions to strategic partners and customers. Cogentic also expanded its service line to include supporting emerging companies in financing operations and growth and finding M&A exits to strategic investors.

In 2010, Cogentic began a partnership with Rainmaker Securities, a broker-dealer based in Chicago, Illinois. Through our partnership with Rainmaker, Cogentic has the full capability of a mid-market broker-dealer platform. Today, Cogentic maintains close relationships with more than 350 institutional investors, more than 100 of which are large strategic investors and buyers of technology, media or telecom companies.
